So please- comment away!
Since we didn't have our March meeting that was to feature this project, we'd like to encourage folks to take a look at the proposal in "Current Projects" and provide comment. This on-line discussion of the project is an effort to compensate somewhat for the current situation regarding meetings. We see this as an opportunity to have a robust discussion and also answer any questions people may have.

Not only is this a huge concrete invasion, it’s also designed for a Star Wars movie. What happened to the concept of building suitable building in brick with traditional architecture suitable for the area? I believe before this much property is victimized by downing trees, clogging streams, and paving hundreds of square feet of land, someone needs to assess the future damage! The more we pave without paying attention to aquifers and streams, the more healthy water we will contaminate. Also, I have several concerns about parking and traffic getting into that parking lot from Davis Ford Road. Finally, it’s an ugly blot on our county.

Again their paving over the county with more concrete and asphalt. The church on Sunday will cause traffic jams so the parishioners can get out after services. That section of the road will become like Hoadly Rd. after services at the Mosques. Additionally the banquet hall and the school will just add more traffic to a busy road in the morning and at night. If there is a school they will probably need a light at the entrance. The impact to the traffic, streams, forest wildlife, etc. is not discussed,

This is a massive church for 150 congregants - clearly they have ambitious growth plans given the recreational and educational facilities. I assume an environmental impact assessment is required, and trust this will be based on the max capacity of the drawing plans submitted rather than the stated 150 current congregants. Beyond the environmental impact of such a large facility, the weekend traffic for this narrow road will surely become an issue. Finally, it's a shame there are no covenants requiring building architecture to fit in with the rural setting that makes our area unique. Such is life. Time to move further out, I guess.

Hello! I am commenting on the proposed park on Davis Ford Road. As a resident of that area I think it is a wonderful idea! This area could certainly use more parks, the closest and largest, the Marina, is always crowded. Hope this project gets the green light!

The access is off a narrow two-lane road that will cause congestion, especially for the left turn into the property. Having police to ensure traffic flow during events will still not be enough to mitigate safety concerns. Adding a traffic light here may not be the best idea either. During the work week, Davis Ford Rd is extremely busy from commuters that have cut through coming from Clifton - more road rage may occur when the weekday events happen - has traffic flow and vehicle density been accurately studied? We moved here in the wooded environment on purpose and enjoy the relative solitude that living in this area affords us - do not turn this area into a re-development of Rt 1.
